Voiceproof Verify-the-Caller™

The call is happening now and something feels off. This page walks you through the protocol, one step at a time — with the exact words to say. Urgency is the scammer's only real weapon; every step below takes it away.

Step 0 — What's happening?

Red-flag rapid check

Tick anything true about the call you're on (or just got). The readout updates as you go.

No flags ticked. Stay alert anyway — a calm, ordinary call can still be checked with a code word in ten seconds.

Why this works

Every voice-clone scam runs the same play: a familiar voice, a crisis, a deadline, and secrecy. The protocol breaks all four. You slow it down (crisis and deadline die), you call back on a number you hold (the spoofed or cloned channel dies), and you ask for the code (the missing secret dies). A legitimate caller — a real son, a real boss, a real bank — will pass every step without complaint. Only a scammer needs you to skip them.

If a call fails: hang up, send nothing, and log it in the Scam Call Log — then report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. If money already moved, call your bank on the number on your card, immediately.
